Heilebär was founded in 1999 in Mainz, Germany, by R. Rein, and has been carried forward by his eldest son, J. Rein, under the mission of "German research, shared worldwide." The brand makes one thing: children's nutrition, nothing else. Its approach is age-precise and formula-precise — every product is developed for a specific age range, rather than adapted from a single all-ages formula. Formulas are developed in long-term partnership with the Mainz University Health Institute, and produced to EU pharmaceutical-grade GMP standards by a German manufacturer.

How Our Formulas Work
Citrate Calcium Base
Both calcium formulas use citrate calcium as their primary source, alongside vitamin D3 and vitamin K2 (MK-7).
Amino Acids & Minerals
Calcium formulas are paired with lysine, magnesium and zinc, plus — in the 6–18 formula — added leucine and cartilage-supporting nutrients.
Prebiotic Fibres
The 1–6 calcium formula also includes prebiotic fibres — GOS, polydextrose and 2'-FL (HMO).
Patented FloraGLO® Lutein
Both lutein formulas are built around FloraGLO®, a patented and independently licensed lutein ingredient, paired with zeaxanthin.
Real Berry Extracts
Lutein formulas include bilberry and blackcurrant extract, with maqui berry and açaí added in the 6–18 formula.
